The ideas in this article are in relation to 12 ga. weapons.

Flechettes are simply small darts. You may find these darts can penetrate a bullet-proof vest at close range. The darts lose velocity very fast so this is mainly for close range work.

It's been reported that SWAT uses a special load in their shotguns to help gain entrance to a house.

To make an aerial shell load you will need a cardboard tube 1 1/4" long and with a 5/8" O.D.

The phosphorous will ignite spontaneously on contact with air or an oxidizer. For this reason it is usually stored under water. We personally cannot recommend this substance unless you have a great deal of experience handling phosphorous.

To keep the shot from spreading too quickly, open up the shell and empty out the shot.

This detailed guide provides essential information on specialty shotgun ammunition. If you want to know more about shotgun ammunition, then this is the guide for you.

This definitive guide provides information on special shotgun loads that will overcome the shortcoming found in standard shotgun rounds.

Learn to make a load that can penetrate a steel armor plate, Kevlar body armor and bullet proof glass.

You will read reasons behind all lever action rifle ammo being of round nose type.

Standard rifled shotgun slugs have a usable range of only 100 yds. If a lighter rifle bullet is substituted for the slug, the range will increase several times.

Commercial rifled slug loads are often hard to obtain. An improvised slug load can be made from any regular shotshell.

Riot shotguns with 18” or 20” barrels are ideal for slug shooting but tend to allow buckshot to scatter in a too wide pattern for long shots. This can be controlled by using a piano or picture framer’s wire.

Remember not to greatly increase projectile weight without reducing the powder charge.

The steps to make and modify special ammo are pretty straightforward and really doable.

In addition to learning about making special purpose shotgun ammunition, you will also find wealth of information on making cheap archers rarget with ease.

Don't miss this one.

Tracer visibility of APFSDS projectiles can be enhanced through a combination of increased steady spin rate, reduced muzzle obscuration, and optimized airflow over the stabilizing fin geometry of the sub–projectile.

The preferred means to increase steady spin rates of the sub–projectile is to incline or deflect the fin blade tip portion, creating a larger, hotter burning, tracer plume.
