The M16 is a lightweight, 5.56 mm caliber, air–cooled, gas–operated, magazine–fed assault rifle, with a rotating bolt, actuated by direct impingement gas operation.

It is constructed of steel, aluminum and composite plastics.

The M16 became the standard issue of the Vietnam War due to it's compatibility with jungle warfare.

This file contains 3 pages of highly detailed blueprints and CAD files, complete with clear captions and footnotes, making this document one of the most useful for the construction and assembly of the M16 receiver.
