The quest for the perfect spark has brought us here.

For convenience, reliability and power, nothing beats a stun gun.

Stun guns come in a variety of voltages from 50,000 to 600,000. A 50k volt spark will ignite a chamber just as well as a 600k spark and are ideal for use as the ignition for a potato gun.

Lower voltage stun guns provide battery economy, fewer insulation problems and obvious safety benefits.

This guide provides clear step by step instructions, aided by color photographs, on how to construct the ideal ignition for your Spudzooka or potato cannon using a stun gun.

The purpose of this document on the "art of cannonry" is to guide the reader through the production of a number of different types of cannons. Learn how to make a device that fires a tennis ball out when ignited. All Tennis ball cannon plans mentioned here are tested and are easy to build and fire.

So you want to build a cannon? I think nearly everybody is familiar with the basic idea of the Tennis Ball Cannon—some type of device that, when ignited, fires a tennis ball out one end.

This sounds simple enough, but making a cannon that can shoot long distances (E.g., 100+ yards) can be a bit tricky.

The purpose of this document is to guide the reader through the production of a number of different types of cannons.

Section 2.0, 2.1, and 2.2 deal with the three types of cannons I’ve built to date.

If you just want to build a cannon, these are the sections for you. These cannons are probably not the most powerful that can be made, but they have all been built and tested.

They’re easy to build and easy to fire, unlike some of the vague net–info I’ve seen floating around.

Hopefully I’ve been precise enough that anyone with some a little talent and time can successfully build a cannon that can fire impressive distances.

If you’re interested in theory or experimentation with unproven designs (by this author, at least), check out later sections.

While I’ve never had any serious accidents with my cannons, I recognize that this it not a harmless sport!

I feel that although the simpler cannons are fairly safe (assuming standard precautions are taken), the more advanced models can generate TREMENDOUS pressures in the barrels.

This guide will have you an artist of cannonry in next to no time.

An excellent, comprehensive manual on how to make a pneumatic potato cannon (spud gun). Includes step-by-step instructions, blueprints and remarks for better understanding. Read on to make a powerful pneumatic compressed air potato cannon out of easily obtainable materials which can fire much further than conventional ignition based models!

This potato cannon, or spud gun, uses compressed air as the propellant. Compressed air is much more easy to regulate and hence, can propel ammo further that their ignition based counterparts.

This guide includes instructions for making the diaphragm that controls the firing of the object.

Testing of hairspray spud guns revealed they can develop no more than 10-20 PSI chamber pressure. Most are built from schedule 40 PVC pipe. 3" PVC pipe has a burst pressure of 260 PSI.

People have suggested using other fuels to boost pressures higher, however this is much to dangerous. More volatile fuels can be very unpredictable and create pressures that would shatter the PVC pipe.

Compressed air can be regulated to exact pressures making it an excellent propellant. The trick is releasing a large volume of air at once to launch the projectile.

The monster that beats ALL other potato–cannons. Using compressed air, it will fire a potato several hundred yards. The potato will emerge at lethal speeds of greater than 400 feet per second.

An excellent, comprehensive manual on how to make the ultimate potato cannon.

Includes exhaustive parts and tools list, helpful tips, photographic illustrations to aid comprehension, assembly and usage instructions, firing instructions, technical calculations, and troubleshooting.

This is the guide to making the ultimate Spud Gun!
