Volt Stun Gun
This stun gun is powered by a 9V battery. The
transformer steps up the voltage to about 1800V
(but with very low current). A 555 timer IC is
used to generate a high-frequency output. A 1
MEG variable resistor can also be used at the
output to drop the voltage, but this is optional.
If you build this circuit, be careful, as it outputs

Its non-lethal according to the companies
who make them commercially, and it is fairly easy
and cheap to build. This page is really for people
who already have experience with electronics,
or those who wish to learn. Having said that,
you dont need to know how it works (although
it helps with trouble shooting), and the only
skills you need are soldering and recognising

Comprehensive
Stungun Information
The whole point of this project is that the device
can be constructed easily, with readily available
components. There is no need to buy miniture high
voltage transformers, that are difficult (or impossible)
to get hold of. All the components can be sourced
from junked consumer goods (although the UJT,
SCR and enamelled copper wire would be easier
to buy than find). Unlike the previous design,
the high voltage capacitor used can be easily
sourced from an old TV if a few modifications
are made. |

Stungun Tazer
The electric stun gun tazer is a modern, portable,
personal-protection appliance. It generates hight
potential energy to ward off vicious animals or
other attackers. It is an aid to help exape from
a potentially dangerous situation. the device
develops about 2,000 volts. Higher voltages mabe
be attained by adding aditional multiplier stages,
but it should be noted that those stage will also
increase the overal size of the unit. |

When touched with the Dazer, the victim will
receive a stunning, but non-lethal jolt of electricity
that will usually discourage any further encounters. |

To Build Your Own Stungun
The easiest stun gun to build is based upon a
555 timer/oscillator IC.
The 555 is an extremely popular and easy to find
chip and costs less than $2 at your local electronics
store.

The
Standard Stungun
A standard stun gun works fairly simply using
two 9V batteries to develop the voltage across
the two electrodes. The batteries are the source
of electricity for the circuit inside the stun
gun. The circuit contains many different elements
including transformers which serve to amplify
the voltage in the circuit while reducing the
amperage. In addition, oscillators create a pulse
which in turn charges up the capacitors. The charged
capacitors are what deliver the shock to the person
by delivering it to the electrodes. |
